SAINT BASIL THE GREAT, ARCHBISHOP OF CAESAREA, CAPPADOCEA 9319
St. Basil was born in Cappadocia 330 a.d. He wrote the basic rule of the way of life for monks. He was chosen Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia and served with honour for ten years. He wrote the Divine Liturgy and he defended the orthodox teaching on the Holy Trinity against heretics.
