Description

SAINTS PHOTIUS AND ANICETUS OF NICOMEDIA, FULL BODY 7071 St’s. Anicetus and Photios lived in Nicomedia during the third century. St Anicetus was educated as a physician together with his nephew St Photios. They adopted an unmercinary (ανάργυροι = anargyroi, meaning without silver i.e. reward) style of practice never taking any money or gifts for their services. God blessed them with healing powers and they cured all that came to them. They were brought to Emperor Diocletion where they were put through many tortures. However for every torture they went through they came out unharmed and they praise God. Finally they gave up their souls in a giant burning on August 12.
