SAINT ARIADNE, FULL BODY 7133 Ariadne was a servant of Tertillos, during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (117-161). When the Christian Ariadne refused to participate in a sacrificial offering to the pagan gods, Tertillos beat, tortured and threw her in prison. When Ariadne was eventually released from prison, she fled the city, Tertillos sent executioners after her. As she fled, she came across a rock, which by her prayers miraculous opened up and disguised her body. There, within the safe confines of the rock, she surrendered her spirit into the hands of Christ.
